The Brisbane Racing Club (BRC) is Queensland’s metropolitan race club and conducts close to 80 race meetings per year at its Eagle Farm and Doomben racecourses. The BRC has engaged in a major business diversification strategy that has delivered substantial non racing revenue. This was achieved through a $1.2 billion property masterplan unlocking the value of the non-core land within the BRC’s racing precinct. Supported by their tier one joint venture partners, the BRC has delivered:
- The first residential tower in the Ascot Green residential development, built by Mirvac;
- The Racecourse Village shopping centre anchored by Woolworths;
- A childcare centre; and
- The Bernborough Ascot Retirement and Aged Care project with Lendlease, Australia’s largest retirement village operator.
The BRC owns two licensed clubs that provide financial support for the main core business being thoroughbred racing in Brisbane.
Reporting to the CEO, the Marketing and Membership Manager will drive growth through a diverse range of marketing activities. Contemporary, innovative marketing expertise is required to increase membership numbers and attract racing and non-racing customers to enjoy the full range of BRC events and activities.
You will lead your team to design and deliver micro-campaigns that appeal to a wider group of the public outside the existing membership. Creating a digital warehouse to enable detailed analysis of customer behaviour will support engagement techniques and loyalty programs. Measuring tangible outcomes and designing KPI’s to hold the team accountable and provide evidence of the ROI for each specific campaign is required. Proactive and effective stakeholder engagement of all groups including members, internal operational teams, government and other regulatory bodies, media, broadcasters, corporate sponsors and community and commercial partners and the public, will play a major role in your success.
An experienced, tertiary qualified, marketer who is willing to be “hands on” to complete any task, can work autonomously and is collaborative with others is required. A detailed oriented individual with outstanding communication, analytical and project management skills will thrive here. An interest in racing is an advantage although a track record of developing and implementing digital marketing strategies and a strong network across Brisbane, along with an entrepreneurial mindset is essential.
