As a Key Executive member, the General Manager Community Engagement (GMCE) performs a critical role within the Executive Team.
The GMCE oversees and manages a number of key areas that have direct interface with the community, so the continued driving of a customer-centric culture is critical across all the areas. The community engagement opportunities are endless and an inspired GMCE will unlock them by leading their high performing teams to design services that improve and continue to provide economic development. Innovative business partnering with the broader community to proactively involve them in strategic decisions will achieve delivery of long-term sustainable services that benefit everyone. You are the designated conduit for the Executive and external stakeholders and must ensure regular two-way communication occurs.
An experienced degree qualified professional seeking to lead an exceptional cohesive team to make a genuine difference in the community will achieve enormous personal satisfaction and fulfillment in this role. A senior manager with expertise in community engagement, public affairs and reputation management – as well as a proven record of providing strong, consistent leadership and management of their teams across all areas of responsibility will thrive here.
Your career must display reputation management success and experience in implementing change in a large, complex, dynamic organisation with a vast array of diverse stakeholders. You can negotiate to achieve tangible outcomes, are happy to constructively challenge norms and assumptions during discussions whilst applying an appropriate balanced approach to risk management all of which will enhance overall community engagement.
