St Joseph’s College, Gregory Terrace, is a proud private, Catholic day School based on the Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA) tradition located at Spring Hill. Since 1875 it has delivered an exceptional level of education, yet more importantly has established an unrivalled reputation for the lasting impact Terrace has on its students. The College Development Office was established to manage all aspects of the Gregory Terrace Foundation (the principal fundraising group at Terrace) and work collaboratively with key stakeholders. The resignation of the incumbent Director of Development has created this opportunity.

Reporting to the College Principal, the Director of Development plays an important leadership role in fundraising for the College. The Director works closely with the College’s Foundation Board and also reports to the Foundation Board Chair on matters pertaining to the Foundation. As Director, you must cultivate relationships with various fundraising groups and assist them in their fund-raising endeavours. Managing the foundation requires you to research, initiate and develop programs, aligned with the College’s strategic plan and EREA Charter, that cover donor acquisition and recognition, capital fundraising appeals and major gift drives and bequests to achieve annual financial fundraising targets.

You will work closely with the Gregory Terrace Old Boys Association to support them in proactively engaging the large cohort of Old Boys to donate to the foundation. A key task is to solicit donations from benefactors to maximise donations by utilising appropriate strategies aligned with the Mission and ethos of EREA and Terrace.

A motivated, self-starter who has successfully and consistently met financial targets in similar roles, whilst applying innovative thinking to develop fundraising strategies and programs, is required. An experienced Executive with outstanding communication, organisational and leadership capability, and an awareness of how invaluable Social Media platforms are to achieve success will thrive in this collaborative environment.

You will have established meaningful relationships with a diverse range of supporters by influencing and persuading them to provide gifts and donations. You are cognisant of your impact on others and this self-awareness has aided you to build an enviable track record of acquiring and developing new business. Your integrity and ethics are beyond reproach and you are driven to exceed targets and expectations.
